How it works

Step 1

Start a list

Give it a name like "Design team birthdays". You get a link for the group and a separate organizer link.

Step 2

Everyone adds their own

Drop the link in the group chat. Each person adds their name and birthday, day and month only. About ten seconds each.

Step 3

Never miss one

Subscribe in your calendar, and when a birthday is close, start a group card for that person straight from the list.

Private by link. We store a name with a day and month, never the year, and no email addresses. Only people with the link can see the list. People can remove their own birthday, and the organizer can delete the list. Details in the privacy policy.

How to collect team birthdays

Most teams try a shared spreadsheet first. It works until someone joins, someone leaves, or nobody remembers where the file is. A birthday list link removes the busywork: each person adds their own birthday once, you do not have to chase anyone for dates, and the whole team sees the same list.

  1. Create the list above. Use a name the group recognises, such as the team or class name.
  2. Post the link in the place your group already talks: the team Slack or Teams channel, the family WhatsApp group, the class chat.
  3. Subscribe in your calendar so every birthday shows up on the day, every year.
  4. Start a group card when a birthday is close. The list shows a button for anyone with a birthday in the next 14 days, and the card opens with their name filled in.

Remember that birthdays are personal. Ask people to add their own rather than adding colleagues yourself, and keep the link inside the group. Want a card right now instead? Make a group birthday card.

Frequently asked questions

How do I collect team birthdays without a spreadsheet?

Create a birthday list on this page and send the link to your team chat. Each person opens it and adds their own name and birthday. Everyone with the link sees the same list, sorted by who is next, and can add all birthdays to their calendar in one step.

Do you ask for the year of birth?

No. A list only stores a name with a day and a month. The year is never asked for, so nobody's age is stored or shown.

Who can see the list?

Anyone who has the list link. Lists are not public, are not listed anywhere on the site, and the list pages are marked so that search engines do not index them. Share the link only with the group.

Can I add the birthdays to Google Calendar, iPhone or Outlook?

Yes. Every list has a calendar subscription link (an .ics calendar) that works with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar on iPhone and Mac, and Outlook. Each birthday appears as an all-day event that repeats every year. People added later appear when your calendar app next refreshes the subscription; each app sets its own refresh schedule. You can also download the list as a single .ics file.

How do I remove a birthday from the list?

The person who added a birthday can remove it from the same browser they used. The organizer can remove anyone or delete the whole list from the organizer link. You can also email us the list link and ask us to delete it.

Is it free? Does anyone need an account?

It is free. Nobody needs an account and we do not ask for email addresses, not from the organizer and not from the people who add their birthday.

What happens when someone's birthday is coming up?

In the 14 days before a birthday, the list shows a button to start a group card for that person. The card is created with the name already filled in, and you share its signing link so everyone can add a message.

How many people can be on one list?

Up to 200 people per list. For a bigger group, create a separate list for each team.
