How it works
A group card on Group Card Online has two links. Understanding the difference is the whole trick.
The two links
- Signing link (ends in
/sign): for the group. Anyone who opens it can add a message. Never send it to the recipient. - Card link: for the recipient. It shows the finished card. Anyone with it can read the messages, so send it only when you are ready.
There is also a third, private link: your organizer dashboard. Bookmark it. It is the only place where you can hide messages, change the title or theme, lock the card and copy the other two links. We do not email it to you because we never asked for your email.
Step by step
- Create the card. Enter the recipient's name, choose an occasion and a theme.
- Share the signing link. Send it to the group. Each person writes a message and may attach a photo.
- Review. Watch messages arrive on your dashboard. Hide anything that should not be on the card.
- Lock and deliver. Lock the card so it stops accepting messages, then send the card link to the recipient.
Photos and GIFs
Each message can carry one image (JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 4 MB). Animated GIFs play on the card. Images are stored privately under the card and are not indexed.
Hiding messages
From the dashboard you can hide any message with one tap. Hidden messages vanish from the card immediately and can be restored.
Locking
Locking closes the signing link. The card link still works. Lock right before delivery so the card looks finished, and unlock later if latecomers want to add something.
Delivery
Send the card link however you normally talk to the person: WhatsApp, email, Slack, text. If you want it to arrive at a specific time, schedule the message in your chat app. The card stays online for at least a year and the recipient can print or save it as PDF from their browser.
Privacy
Cards are unlisted and not indexed. We store names, messages and uploaded images, nothing else. See the privacy policy.
